Andrea Testimonials
Antarctica
Jordan Whilden (Feb 2008 - MS Andrea)Excellent is not a strong enough word to describe this experience...this trip was the most spectacular, fabulous, once-in-a-lifetime adventure to the most awe-inspiring, pristine continent on earth.
Eck Khoon Goh (Jan 2006 - M/S Andrea Antarctica Cruise)
Antarctica was beyond my wildest expectations. The ship's crew and staff on board were excellent and very friendly. The scenery was surreal - the penguins and other wildlife were worth the crossing of the Drake Passage!
Betty Gnass (Jan 2006 - M/S Andrea Antarctica Cruise)
This trip was superb! The crew of the ship and the expedition leaders were all great. I would do this trip again in a minute.
Linda Gaughran and Kenneth Grimes (Feb 2005 - MS Andrea Antarctica Cruise + Iguazu Falls)
This was an amazing trip. We want to go back!
Thank you so much for your help in planning our trip. It was spectacular. Our accommodations and adventures on the side trips as well as the local contacts for tours and transportation were great. Adventure Life took great care of us, and the add-on trips to Buenos Aires, Yacutinga and Iguazu Falls were also spectacular. You guys rock!
Here is the advice I can offer to you and your clients about traveling to Antarctica….
NOTES FROM OUR ANTARCTICA, SOUTH GEORGIA, FALKLANDS TRIP ON THE MS ANDREA
RUBBER BOOTS
Cheap rubber boots are fine. I spent $20 from Gemplers.com. Make sure they are 16+” high, completely waterproof and that they have a good tread/lug depth - the ice and the penguin poop can be slippery and you will be stepping into the water getting in and out of the rafts. Do not bring lined or insulated boots because they will not dry out in time for your next landing. Get the boots a couple sizes bigger than usual to accommodate thick socks. I wear a women’s size 9 shoe and bought men’s size 9 boots (equivalent of women’s size 10.5), which gave me enough extra length and width to accommodate the socks. The best combination we found was a Smartwool or Coolmax sock liner under a heavyweight wicking hiking sock. That way you can wash and dry the liners overnight and wash the heavyweights ...

The tour was great! The trip leaders were very enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and the ship crew was outstanding. My visit to Antarctica was everything that I was hoping for and more!
Ann Abele and Paul Leiter (Dec 2004 - Andrea Antarctica Cruise)
We had a fantastic time. Who would have through that we could sail into an active volcano! The penguins and seals were entertaining to say the least. The size and color of the icebergs were surreal. We were glad we had done an Alaskan cruise first as Antarctica is an extremely hard act to follow. We had some rough water on the Drake Passage, but I had done knowing that. The trip was fantastic and after swimming in -1-degree water, I'm a Polar Penguin Club Member -- much more prestigious than a Polar Bear Member. There were lectures by geologists, birders, wildlife experts and such, which helped make the shore excursions that much more enjoyable. The small number of passengers made a much more intimate atmosphere and we were able to meet most of them. Of course, the day after I got home, I ended up in the hospital for three days after having a ladder kicked out under me and separating my elbow. But even that couldn't take the edge off the trip. It was great!
Les Moore (Dec 2004 - Andrea Antarctica Cruise)
We're home after our Antarctic trip, although not yet over the traveling and 10 hour time change. But even before our heads clear, I thought I should get in touch with you to let you know how absolutely delighted we are with the experience. It exceeded our expectations in every regard. The ship is exceedingly well appointed, the crew and hospitality staff on board were wonderful, and the food on board was outstanding. The expedition team was amazing in their knowledge, experience and helpfulness. The landings were well planned and every one was a different experience. All in all, our trip was a wonderful experience.
John and Ernestine McCloud (Dec 2004 - MS Andrea Antarctica Cruise + Iguazu Falls)
An excellent tour! We have traveled worldwide for more than 20 years, and this ranks at or near the top of more than 40 international excursions! We enjoyed all parts of the trip - Buenos Aires, Ushuaia, the Antarctica cruise, and Iguazu Falls.
