Day 1 : Embark at Newport
Board Arabella in the historic harbor of downtown Newport in the afternoon. Settle into your cabin and then freshen up and prepare for a welcoming Smuggler's Cocktail Cruise aboard the 1929 Elco Prohibition Era Motor yacht, the Rum Runner II, followed by dinner at your choice of Newport's more than fifty wonderful restaurants. Don't miss Newport's wonderful mansions from the Gilded Age, its world famous Cliff Walk and the largest number of original Colonial buildings in the country.
Day 2 : Cruise North to Rhode Island
After breakfast, sail North up Narragansett Bay past historic Rose Island Lighthouse and the famed Naval War College. Arrive in Bristol, RI in time for lunch and to check out the town in full bustle preparing for the Nation's longest running fourth of July Parade…they paint the lines in the road red, white and blue! This is a perfect day for exploring the Herrshoff Museum, and scoping out the restaurants for a delicious dinner ashore. There should be a fantastic fireworks display on the Bristol harbor about 9pm, so come aboard, and toast the beauty in the hot tub on deck, under the stars!
Day 3 : Celebrate 4th of July
This is it! The big Bristol 4th of July Parade, stake out your spots and hold on for one of the most entertaining displays of our country's pride ever to march down a street. Enjoy the small town charm with a big, attitude on this special day…they start planning for this parade the day after on July 5th for the following year! Board after the parade and set sail for Newport. After a nice sail and a stroll through town, enjoy cocktails and Hors d'oeuvres aboard in beautiful Newport harbor then later the Chef and crew will serve a wonderful grilled picnic dinner- “American traditional”- aboard before the fireworks begin …again!
Day 4 : Disembark
Awaken to the sun over historic Fort Adams and enjoy a farewell breakfast with the Captain and crew, exchanging information with your shipmates before disembarking from a refreshing and special weekend.
