THE HURON AND THE IROQUOIS, THE FRENCH, THE ENGLISH, AND THE SCOTS MADE CANADA’S MARITIME PROVINCES EXTRAORDINARY. To this day, along some of the most dramatic waterways in North America, visitors find layers of culture and layers of history, and nestled throughout the grand landscape of this region are exceptional golf courses. From our first day you may explore the scenery, history, and wildlife of Canada, or play some of the country’s championship golf courses. Your options include explorations of the magnificent Cape Breton Highlands, which have barely changed since John Cabot and Jacques Cartier explored the region in the 15th and 16th centuries; tours of cosmopolitan Montreal and the historic Upper and Lower Towns of old Quebec City; and a visit to the enchanting cottage on Prince Edward Island that was the setting for Lucy Maud Montgomery’s Anne of Green Gables novels. For golfers, we have arranged for you to play at five legendary Canadian golf courses: Graham Cooke’s Clovelly Golf Course outside St. John’s; Highland Links, Stanley Thompson’s masterpiece that ranks among the finest courses in the world; The Links at Crowbush Cove, hailed by Golf Digest as one of the Best New Courses in Canada; the superb Grand Vallon, set at the foot of Mont-Ste.-Anne; and finally, the legendary Royal Montreal Golf Club, the oldest golf course in the country.

Day 1 : ST. JOHN’S, Newfoundland, Canada

Fly to St. John’s, the atmospheric capital of Newfoundland founded in the 16th century. Accommodations are at the Delta St. John’s Hotel.

Day 2 : ST. JOHN’S | EMBARK

GOLF: Play the opening round at Clovelly Golf Club, the Graham Cooke-designed championship course and site of the 2000 Canadian Tour Open.
TOUR: Visit Cape Spear National Historic Site. Board local boats to Bay Bulls for an excursion to Witless Bay Ecological Reserve, where millions of seabirds come to breed every summer. Embark Clelia II in St. John’s and sail.

Day 3 : AT SEA

Cruise in the Gulf of St. Lawrence to Nova Scotia.

Day 4 : INGONISH, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia

Arrive in Ingonish, nestled in a bay on the east coast of Cape Breton Island.
GOLF: Play Highland Links, a Stanley Thompson-designed masterpiece famous for its “out and back” routing that melds with its terrain’s shores, woodlands, and brooks.
TOUR: Explore Cape Breton Highlands National Park, among Canada’s most majestic conservancies, and its famed Cabot Trail.

Day 5 : CHARLOTTETOWN, Prince Edward Island

GOLF: Once noted by Golf Digest as Canada’s Best New Course, The Links at Crowbush Cove boasts windswept water holes and pot bunkers, and overlooks Prince Edward Island’s north shore dunes.
TOUR: Enjoy a panoramic island tour, including colonial Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island National Park, and the Anne of Green Gables House, observing some of the 200 bird species found in its parkland setting.

Day 6 : GASPE, Quebec

TOUR: Gaspe is where Jacques Cartier first claimed Canada for France. From “Land’s End,” visit the National Park of Bonaventure Island, which houses a migratory bird sanctuary with the largest concentration of Northern Gannets in North America.

Day 7 : AT SEA | SAGUENAY RIVER

Navigate the Saguenay River, once an important trade route. From the ship’s deck, we are likely to spot a pod of whales.

Day 8 : QUEBEC CITY

GOLF: Play Le Grand Vallon, an undulating course framed against the dramatic backdrop of Mont-Sainte-Anne.
TOUR: Discover the old city walls, cobblestoned lanes, and cafes of picturesque Quebec City. Its undeveloped charm led UNESCO to designate it a World Heritage Site.

Day 9 : MONTREAL

GOLF: Founded in 1873, Royal Montreal Golf Club is the oldest course in North America. Play its acclaimed Blue Course, touched up by renowned architect Rees Jones. The signature hole, No. 16, is a 444-yard par 4 that challenges the world’s top players.
TOUR: Stroll through Vieux-Montreal, the city’s old quarter; Notre Dame Basilica; and Mont-Royal Park. Then, sail from Montreal, beginning the transit through the St. Lawrence Seaway and its seven locks connecting the Atlantic with Lake Ontario.

Day 10 : THE ST. LAWRENCE SEAWAY & THOUSAND ISLANDS | LAKE ONTARIO

Continue navigating the St. Lawrence Seaway. Later in the day, sail through the scenic Thousand Islands region. In the afternoon, Clelia II cruises Lake Ontario.
