Destinations : Alaska, Denali

Children under age 18 are 50% off!

Follow the Seattle to Juneau route of the original stampeders from the 1898 Klondike Gold Rush. From dense, forested shores to stunning fjords, immense glaciers and unspoiled waterways, the Inside Passage is a world of spectacular beauty. Cruise the pristine waters of the San Juan Islands, the Strait of Georgia, Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve, Frederick Sound and Tracy Arm, and visit the towns of Sitka, Petersburg and Skagway, the jumping off points for thousands of early gold seekers.

Day 1 : Arrive in Seattle

Transfer to your ship to begin your cruise following the path of the Gold Rush. D

Day 2 : Cruising the San Juan Islands

Explore the charming resort village of Friday Harbor on San Juan Island, once an important whaling center, now with only 2,000 residents. BLD

Day 3 : Strait of Georgia

Cruise among pristine islands nestled between Vancouver Island and the mountainous mainland of British Columbia, home to harbor seals, bald eagles and orcas. BLD

Day 4 : Cruising Northern British Columbia

Enjoy remote and quiet reaches of ancient, glacially carved fjords along this coastline. Cruise by old growth forests, quiet coves and nutrient-rich waters that support many mammals and
seabirds in the Great Bear Rainforest. BLD

Day 5 : Misty Fiords National Monument and Metlakatla

The dramatic granite cliffs of Misty Fiords National Monument welcome you to Alaska’s grandeur. Explore spectacular Behm Canal, a glacially carved fjord where 6 inlets converge. U.S. Forest Service Kayak Rangers join you onboard to offer local information. The Tsimshians of the Metlakatla community perform a traditional dance in their tribal long house. BLD

Day 6 : Petersburg

Receive a warm welcome at the Norwegian-heritage fishing village of Petersburg, inaccessible to large cruise ships. Explore iceberg-filled LeConte Bay or rarely visited waterways like beautiful Thomas Bay, with its twin glaciers and aptly named Scenery Cove. BLD

Day 7 : Frederick Sound and Tracy Arm

Humpback whales abound in Frederick Sound. Cruise under Tracy Arm’s sheer 1,500-foot-high vertical cliffs to the twin Sawyer Glaciers. BLD

Day 8 : Sitka

Only small ships can negotiate Peril Strait and Sergius Narrows, the “inside” route to beautiful Sitka. A walk through Sitka’s National Historic Park offers towering totems and thriving wildlife in the forest habitat. BLD

Day 9 : Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve

First established as a National Monument by presidential proclamation in 1925, Glacier Bay has since enjoyed the honored and highly protected
status of National Park, Biosphere Reserve and World Heritage Site. Glide through this impressive wonderland, closely approaching the “rivers of ice.” A National Park Service Ranger and a Native Cultural Interpreter offer insightful narration and help you spot wildlife such as whales, mountain goats and brown and black bears. BLD

Day 10 : Skayway

Relive the Gold Rush of 1898 in the picture-perfect setting of Skagway, the jumping off place for thousands of early gold seekers. BLD

Day 11 : Arrive in Juneau

Spend the day exploring Alaska’s capital city on your own. Many optional activities are available
here. B

Day 12 : Fly to Anchorage

Transfer to the Juneau Airport for your included flight to Anchorage and transfer to the Sheraton Anchorage Hotel and Spa. Day 13 : Anchorage to Denali National Park via Motorcoach and Rail

Travel by motorcoach to Talkeetna, where you will board a deluxe domed railcar for your journey to Denali National Park. Cross the high trestle at Hurricane Gulch, and ascend via Broad Pass into the Alaska Range. The domed cars allow spectacular views on both sides of the train, including (when weather permits) sweeping views of snowcapped peaks and Mt. McKinley. Lunch is provided aboard the train. Enjoy an exclusive presentation by a naturalist from the Denali Education Center and overnight at a comfortable Denali hotel. BLD

Day 14 : Denali Exploration

An expert guide takes you on your chosen bus tour into Denali National Park to look for wildlife and experience summer in the subalpine tundra. Following your park tour, you have time to enjoy the park on your own or venture out on any of the optional rafting, flightseeing or other optional excursions we can arrange for you. B

Day 15 : Denali National Park Exploration

Experience another full day in the remote wilderness of Denali. Consider hiking or optional excursions like rafting or flightseeing. Enjoy an exclusive dinner and presentation on the effects of climate change on Alaska’s national parks from an Alaska Geographic naturalist. BD
